Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985. Her birthplace was Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix showed a flair for athletics before she realized her talent for sprinting when she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following the first time she tried, she finished second in the 200 meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school by signing a contract as a professional athlete with the sports company Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was at the 2004 Summer Olympics at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world for the 200 meter race. She defended the title once again in 2007, beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three in all her competitions.
